Climate Change

It wasn't at all clear that climate would be the one of the many overarching threats that would come to define the trajectory to collapse. And so, ah, there were other perfectly vauable candidates for the like kind of immediate mechanisms to create a situation of self perpetuating aen cological collapse. To a lot of people at the time, that felt like the most meaningful way toter in the overall ecological crisis was to intervene in specific threats to specific places and species.
