The End of History in the Last Man
One popular theory of geopolitics is that as a country gets more and more economically developed, they're more likely to become liberal democracy. The idea was that once a country developed a large enough middle class, that middle class would start pushing for democratization. But it did not seem to be happening in the largest Asian country - China. And I believe that pretty strongly when I wrote the End of History in the Last Man, you know, the big contradiction has been China.
