frontier and spirit announce a merger plan to become the fifth largest airline in the us. Frontier is controlled by indigo partners, a private equity company that also owns the chilean u l c c jet smart. Spirit is mostly concentrated in the eastern half of the us. If it's approved by the department of justice, i think is eward.
