The Moral Trade-Off Between the British Government and the UAE
Former foreign office officials and ministers spoke to me about the kind of extent to which the British government is sort of beholden to the UAE. It was unusual to hear that sort of moral trade-off being described in such clear terms, she says. The police officer who investigated Princess Shamza's disappearance said well yeah those decisions are made above my pay grade you just have to go with it according to a former colleague. Two people involved in Chandler's abduction were British citizens who still live in Britain but they've never even been approached or interviewed by the police about this.
