Jung calls the process of integrating the unconscious and the unconscious mind, the situation. It really has two meanings that it carries: One is that you're an individual. If you are just conscious, if you are just a rational, bloodless thinking machine, you're going to be like every other rational, bloodlessly thinking machine. On the other hand, if you're just instinctual animal or functioning on the level of an instinctual animal, as we sometimes do, again, you're the same as everyone else doing that.
