Waterloo Estate Redevelopment
The state government wants to knock down and rebuild the entire waterloo estate in Sydney's south. The original plan called for 70 % social housing, but now that number is closer to 30%. There are fewer than 100 additional social houses out of this re development proposal from the state. Social housing is the final safety net protecting many australians from homelessness. But a looming short fall in supply could leave hundreds of thousands out on streets with no plan to help them.
