If you add a hundred calories of exercise to your daily routine, your total daily energy expenditure is not likely to increase by 100 calories. You will compensate in other areas of energy expenditure. So rather than increasing yourtotal daily energy expenditure by a hundred calories, you might only increase it by like 70 or 75 calories because of this compensation in other areas.
