Hms canada was being built for chile at the start of the first world war. She immediately goes into the royal navy, becomes h m s canada. The ship serves all the way through the firstWorldWar including at chutland. This magnificent painting is absolutely vast. It shows when the fleet is turning, the destroyers are going into action. We were determined to tell the german side of the story. But we're a uka museum. Our collections are mostly british. Less material has survived in germany because ovisy intervened.
