The Importance of Virtue Theory
The standard way of teaching moral theory is to divide moral philosophers into consequentialists, deontologists, and virtue theorists. Roger Christ: I think it's pretty inadequate once you get past Philosophy 101. He says Aristotle was quite right to claim that if you're going to give the proper account of character in ethics, you have to refer to actions.
