Is There a Moral Case for Not Participating in Elections?

Is there a defensible moral case for compelling people to play a role choosing the people who govern? Not to me. And i'm not sure i can convince every one of my own moral precepts, so i'll turn to public opinion,. which are much better than morality anyway. We know in in winning arguments, this question has been pulled about again and again. The number one reason is that people have a right to not participate if they don't feel like it.
