How Neuroscience Was Influenced by Other Fields?

Neuroscience doesn't occur in a vacuum. It's influenced by discoveries in other fields and relies on technology that originally developed for other uses. In the 18th century, people noticed you could get bits of dead animal, dead frog initially, to twitch and move if you put an electric current into them. This eventually led to the discovery of quite bizarrely, in fact, it was in trying to understand how some things like electric eels could generate electricitythat we invented the batteries.
