The Role of Consciousness in Artificial Intelligence

Do you think there is an overlap between consciousness and identity like do some do something seem to come pre-packaged with that magical lights coming on situation or do you feel like that consciousness is is sort of a blank slate. truly truly don't given that you are so well versed in consciousness and or a mother does it really matter?
