The Strangeness of Working in Haiti
Haiti is a country of incredible sort of vibrancy and there's a sense of life to Haiti. And at the same time, it's one of the most disturbing and tragic places on the planet. Sometimes I almost felt that I had these two simultaneous feelings. One was how this is so amazing. I want to photograph here forever. The other was saying to myself, I want to go to the airport and be here as quick as possible. You know, they were totally contradictory notions that coexisted with me all the time in Haiti.
