The Coup Begins

This chapter details the initial stages of the coup, from the conspirators obtaining a sword to the neutralization of the Directory and Senate. Napoleon takes command of troops and delivers a critical speech, while the Council of Five Hundred remains outside of the plotters' control. The chapter ends with the legislature meeting at a new location, demanding answers and setting the stage for further conflict.
