Pixar's First Short Film
At the beginning of Pixar's inception, Steve let Ed and Albie run the company without much interference. In 1987, Pixar released its first short film under its new ownership. Entitled Luxo Jr., it became the first 3D computer animated film to be nominated for an Academy Award. But while Pixar upped its ambition, experience and technology with every project, Steve was finding a serious fault in their business model.
