Yields on leverage loans are over 9%. The spread or incremental yield over short-term interest rates is somewhere between 4 to 4.7% depending on the index you use. A year ago I added a leverage loan fund to my portfolio and it's done fine. Invesco Senior Loan ETF BKLN has returned 2.5% annualized compared to 1% for the iShares aggregate bond marketETF.
