The Great Power Wars of the Second Empire

Great power warfare had gone dormant after the horrors of the french revolutionary and napoleonic wars. The period from 18 15 to 18 forty eight saw no direct wars between the great powers. After 18 forty eight, we see the return of a willingness for the great powers to fight each other directly. Almost all of which france was right in the middle of. In 18 53, the british and french combined to send armies to the crimea to check the russians. When they arrived, they got stuck in a pretty horendous, disease ridden siege of the russian naval port of sevistople.
