The Meaning of the Name of Jesus

The Aramaic term for Lord is Marr. It's essentially the first century Aramaic equivalent of mister. The Jewish people broadly began to avoid using the name Yahweh because they didn't want to profane it accidentally. In Greek, if they were Greek speaking Jews, would use the Greek equivalent, which is kurios. If you read the Greek New Testament, Jesus is referred to as kurios as Lord.
