The Importance of Understanding the Causes of Addiction
There's a very broad scientific consensus that there are three kinds of cause, right? There are biological causes like your genes and brain changes. And there are social causes, your environment, and how we live together. People who are socially connected have a strong sense of meaning and purpose can develop dementia much more slowly. The opposite of addiction is not sobriety but compulsively using drugs.
