In one longitudinal study examining 1500 men and women who started out eager and ambitious at the beginning of their careers, they found that only 83 of them over the course of 20 years became millionaires. The wealthy people in this study never set out to make a lot of money. Instead they set out to find a field that they re-enjoyed and then devoted themselves to it.
