I didn't realize that I'm not naturally wired to want to do those things. People will say, well, is does this mean that when you figure you don't have that genius? Hey, you're off the hook. No, it's not an excuse. What it means is when you do have to do it, don't expect yourself to love it. Be okay with yourself for going, oh, this is a grind. And don't make that a big part of your job. But all of us have to do things that are not in our working genius sometimes. For 22 years, my job was all tea. So I have tea in my working competency.
Nobody is good at everything, yet we tend to dwell on our weaknesses and judge others for theirs. This week, the Working Genius team gives you the tools to stop feeling guilty at work.
