E j, i worked on ean's case for ten years. They launched a litigation campaign to challenge life without parole sentences for children. The supreme court recognized that the ways in which children are different from adults had to be considered during sentencing. In november of two thousand 16, ben shaffer and en manuel appeared in court in tampa. And then en manuel was resentenced. He was granted time for the years he had already served and released from prison. Oh, my god. I literally felt like i had died. Came back to life.
