Plutarch's Life of Antony
In some aspects, Antony has everything to lose. Whereas Cleopatra wouldn't want to draw things out if she realises that she's not going to win. So I mean, he is certainly at that point still trying to fight though. They're not getting clear answers so presumably things change potentially every day for them. Or maybe there's a chance we could fight here. No, it's all hopeless. There's nothing left to do. That feeling probably happened several times throughout this year. And yet there's moments where they've got passion and romance. But also, Plutarch gives it this tinge of doom as well because Antony is wishing for a heroic death.
