When japan was trying to join the so calledmodern nations in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, did care modernized as well? Or did am? Did japan's attitude towards animal care change? O, did change. And it did modernize, of course, of like everything else during the magi era. But what's often forgotten is how much western attitudes towards animals have also changed during this time. It's the change of western attitudes that has become more a source of criticise than the japanese tradition itself.
