The default mode network, at least that part of it stays deactivated. If you think or or neurotic thoughts, and if you think them in the room, then the PCC doesn't activate. This is a cool finding because a lot of people depression and schizophrenia and stuff relies highly on thoughts being able to become this huge portion of experience.
