What's Happening in India Today?

The 19th century is more or less what my book focuses on because that's the first half of that is the peak of the opium trade. Calcutta has this monopoly till a certain point and then they start hearing rumors that opium chests are coming to China, but they're not the ones selling it. The British try to close off the ports, right? They go like, okay, you can't take it out of Bombay, which they control. And so, you know, these Indian like merchants will find another port and they'll try to close that down by like, if it's an Indian port, they'll sign an agreement to kind of lock thatport down as well.
