Prehistoric Tools for Fire Production

In the last podcast, we discussed the site of gesha ben yakov in israel. This sight shows that humans deliberately used fire to cook food stuffs. If there is a direct correlation here, then that would suggest that humans were deliberately using fire a long time before zero point, eight million years ago. Another theory speculates that by living near the lava rich prehistoric environs of africa's great rift valley, would have sented opportunities to find sources of extremely hot molten rock. It could have been there that humans first observed fire on a regular basis and got to know more about its nature and behavior.
