The Disappointment of the Southern Man Movement
Guthrie's song is the anthem of crippled America. The political analogy would be in 2016, you've got a bunch of GOP candidates and they all have the same roughly the same kinds of complaints. This isn't even a country song. This is very different from the bubblegum appeal to the southern man movement conservative kind of music. Liberalism is not only the political establishment as it has been for a long time, but now everybody knows it that Woody Guthrie today are conservatives.
