The Key to Gibraltar
The flag of gibraltar features a key affixed to a fortress by a golden cord sos. A warded key has complex, intricate patterns in solid metal that would turn through corresponding gaps in the walls inside the lock. There's so many directions you can go with the key as symbol: trust ownership, secret knowledge and even forbidden knowledge.
