In the United States in particular, I think the historical size of the middle class has kept people on the fence as to what direction they wanna go. The Republicans now have become sort of like the underdog, whereas before they were seen as sort of the ruling class. And it's gotten very confusing and the whole Trump movement was kind of like this populist revolt against the Republican ruling order.
