The Naval Academy: A Strange Time in Defense

Rumsfeld asked me to come and do the same thing to him one-on-one so maybe on a Friday morning after I taught I would go up down to Washington medium and we would talk about history. He had wonderful people around him and so I enjoyed that but at one point he said how do you endure that at the Naval Academy? It was a very strange time in defense of the Naval Academy it was politicized the war was going bad, Bush administration had been ultra popular and by the time I left it was unpopular there was an anti-war movement in Washington.
