The Department of Justice's Breaking of the Encryption on the Shooter's Phone
A member of the Saudi Arabian military went on a shooting rampage and killed three U.S. sailors in Pensacola, Florida last December. The Department of Justice announced that they had managed to break the encryption on the shooter's phone. This is the first time since 9-11 that al-Qaeda has successfully sent an operative to the US to carry out an attack like this. But because we have a Republican president, the story seems to be getting very little attention. John Avlon: We're not talking about a real policy problem and a problem with this program in particular.
