Introduction

As of today, Pennsylvania's Department of Health website shows 121,000 confirmed COVID cases in Pennsylvania. But almost 80% of those cases are classified as recovered. What that means is that the number of active COvid cases in Pennsylvania is not 121,000, but less than 27,000. Currently, 2.5% of active CO VID cases in Pennsylvania are hospitalized. That's 675 Pennsylvanians, or 5,000 of 1% of the population of Pennsylvania. The hospital occupancy rate has risen from 52% on April 1st to 68% today.
