Quantum Field Theory - The Theory of Everythings

Currently we use math is the way we express our ideas. Matter and forces are both described by fields, which are expressed as quantum field theories. One hope is that we could generalize quantum field theory and use it to describe things at the smallest level. But i suspect we need some sort of completely new mathematics in order to make progress towards this final theory.
