The Importance of Fixing Atmospheric Nitrogen

The discovery of a way to fix atmospheric nitrogen was a matter of life and death. The entire population of the world needed fixed nitrogen. Whoever found a way to create it out of the air would not only save humanity, but would likely become very, very rich. Because of this discovery, this invention created by Haber and then obviously put into production by Bosch, or, you know, the human population's gone up.
