I started with an interpreter because I couldn't understand much of what they were telling me. The kids role models were dad and granddad who hadn't worked didn't work so they just went out on the streets and caused trouble. So we had another meeting and then another one and I said right okay how about this? We've got a leisure center which is council owned, that's going to deploy that for your benefit. Within six months street crime had dropped by over 50% and hope started to happen. This became a project that ran for 11 years we took over 23,000 people through the program we got nearly all of them a job. It was run by an amazing team of people
