How to Redirect Articles to Match User Intent
I would guess mostly recommendations are 301 or 404 for articles. Are you four or four in a lot of stuff? Are you getting pretty liberal with trying to redirect things? It sounds like you want to match the user intent. I almost never do 404s if I can help it. I would rather it be redirected to a generic landing page. That's like, hey, this article is no long existing. Check out our last webinar and it may not exactly match user intent than just deleting a post and nothing's there.
