Are You Ready to Give Up Your Market Share?
There's a pre-baked hypothesis that those returns that have been observed in fossil energy extraction and provision are going to be there going forward. I think that is probably going to become a more risky bet for very, very straightforward reasons. On the other side, it's really a case of these are your sectors, if you will, as an incumbent. Are you willing to give up your market share as somebody else potentially develops those projects and transitions away or offers a product that could be perceived as a premium or a preferential alternative? I suspect the reality is nobody wants to give up that.
