An AST to ALT ratio of 2 to 1 or greater is suggestive of alcohol liver disease. NASH or non-alcoholic steatohepatitis that we see not rarely can give you the same ratio. Hep C, as it develops into end stage cirrhosis, takes on the alcoholic liver disease pattern and can giveyou the same thing.
