Boris Johnson's supporters put out a statement this morning saying that they verified with the with the returning officers in the 1922 committee that Boris Johnson did have enough nominations. That kind of mystery thickens a bit but I suppose people could have been changing their mind in quite a fluid way so we will never know what was really going on. The king is in Sandringham this afternoon and he's going to travel back so that means Liz Truss could see him to resign as Prime Minister officially. Richie Sunak will then be able to go to Buckingham Palace. They might be clip-clock horse hooves coming down the street anytime now.
