Dostoevsky doesn't offer a solution to the problem of truthfulness in society. Michigan has to learn about social situations and how to behave properly, he says. He can't just lose that and become a society person or become rogugean. There's actually got to be some element of self-interest balancing out ones, altruism and ethical considerations.
