"I loved the games and I literally yell because I was like, Okay, here comes a car crash," he says. "It just kind of misses the point of adapting something if you're not going to like engage with the source material" Jonah has never played a Halo game, which is very important for this film. He's so tethered to the original heart of the story because the original Crater still exists.
