What's Beijing Doing to Support Russia?
CNN's John Defterios asks whether China has actually gone to bat for Russia since the invasion of Ukraine. He says Beijing is a self-interested power that wants what's good for its own people, not necessarily Russian interests. But he says they have endorsed Moscow's rationales for the conflict and taken full advantage of discounted Russian oil. The thinking in Beijing goes this way: "Let's imagine we can throw our dear friend Vladimir under the bus," Defterios writes.
