The Most High God in the Bible
The term hoop systos in Greek, which means most high is used of Zeus a lot. So as soon as you run into that, you're thinking, okay, it seems like John is taking a shot at the Greco Roman most high God, Zeus. In non Jewish or non Christian texts written in Greek, the expression occurs as a divine name for Zeus. That's another title of Zeus that actually sounds like descriptions of Jesus elsewhere in the New Testament.
