Docetism and the Ebionites
The ebionites were opposed by both jews and christians. They ended up mainly east of the jordan river, in the lands of syria or assyria. And probably overtime, they died out or were absorbed into the christian church as christianity grew. docetism is a word for those who believed that jesus was not a human at all,. That he did not have a real human body, but he just appeared. There was an illusion or appearance that he had a human body,but he was, in fact, purely spiritual.
