The Immigrant Experience
Kuan hong was a Chinese immigrant to New York City. He painted impressionist landscapes in the style of an American artist, but with his own name on the lower right corner. His work became known for its bright colors and whimsical themes. But he also had darker side as he made heavy bronze replicas of mac donald's packaging for french fries and hamburgers. The art students league helped him overcome these dark times.
