The Origins of Easter
Easter egg decorating came from Lent. It did not go back to some sort of ancient Babylonian custom. Babies were sacrificed and the blood of the infants were dipped in the eggs for Ishtar. Worshiping Ishtar was intended to ask for her blessing of fertility on the crops, everything else. None of this had to do with Christianity.
