The Problems of Bias and Library Classification Structures and Subject Language

A queer approach to language resists the idea that naming is ever outside of power or resistance. In both cases, the project of a critical library classification becomes less about correction and more about locating the ruptures in the structure. This fundamental insight challenges the traditional approach of activist librarians who see as paramount the task of correcting classification schemes.
