In the gospel of john, jesus tells nathaniel that he will see heaven opened and angels descending on him. This is one of the great themes in the whole bible, isn't it? Go right back to the the garden of eden. Eden's a kind of elevated space where we go up, god comes down, and they meet. Think of it as tabor of sinai, of zion, of edon, of calvary. The dream of jacob corresponds to pascal's heart and to kirkegar's religion It's this sort of ighest form of perception, that's what we're talking about.
