Zwingley's Argument for Communion
Luke's phrase, the breaking of bread, do you understand that is they're just hanging out and sharing a meal? OrDo you understand that as communion? It says they devoted themselves to breaking a bread. I think that is a reference to the Lord's Supper. And it also seems to make the most sense of like, um, they're just, it already said they're devoted to fellowship. Right. If all he meant was they were sharing a meal, it would seem very strange for him to separate that. So we want to make sure that we're taking this with intellectual honesty here.
